Hearts & Flowers showers are a way of showing love, encouragement, and support to other members. They help someone celebrate a triumph, cope with difficult circumstances, or sympathize with a loss. There is no commitment, this is a completely voluntary act.
The H&F hostesses decide based on circumstances and organize the hearts & flowers showers. They send out an H&F email to each person listed on the membership list, describing the situation and asking for people to construct and send out quilt blocks.
Blocks requested will usually be a 6.5" (unfinished) block featuring a heart or flower theme. You may use any pattern or method of construction you want. Please secure the edges if you use fusibles. The background called for will normally be white on white.

If you wish to be a part of Hearts & Flowers Showers, you must be listed on the membership list. This is a private list made of people on the the WASIQ email list who wish to share their full names, addresses, and other information. It is not shared with anyone who is not on the membership list.
To join the membership list, open your web browser and go to: wa-state-quilters-membership, a group on the Yahoo site. Follow the instructions to join the group. You will have to share your full name and address in order to join.
When a hearts & flowers shower starts, you will get an email from the H&F hostesses instructing you what kind of blocks to make and where to send them. You do not have to participate if you do not want to or do not have the time. You do not have to do every shower.
If you wish to request a H&F shower, send an email to the hostesses, explaining the circumstances and requesting a shower.
